Actual text from my sister when Katelyn debuted this “Holy shit. Katelyn Ohashi’s routine this year.”
College, and specifically UCLA, gymnastics seems like such a fun and encouraging place. I love how she’s genuinely smiling throughout the entire video and how her teammates are cheering her on and truly loving and supporting her throughout her routine. I hope we can get more of this in sports!
My favourite thing is the fact her team mates do parts of the routine with her. It’s so cute. And I love her
Whoa! She’s fantastic and y’all know I love Michael ❤️
So Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is 30 years old this month. Let’s have a look at the advertisements featured in Issue #1.
I’d love to read that Catwoman mini-series.
Neil, Catwoman isn’t a mini-series. I’ve been collecting it almost from issue 1 and it’s still running twenty some years later.
I was reblogging, and the text about the Catwoman mini series was from the original blog. I just thought people might like to see the ancient adverts (including the ad for the Catwoman 4 issue mini-series).
Ben Barton is a third-generation Spider-Man, and although his surname is different, he definitely feels as though he’s inherited the “Parker Luck.” Born a twin, he feels his sister got all the “cool” powers. Ben is superhumanly agile, grows paralytic barbs from his forearms (that he plucks and keeps in his ankle pouches), has a double-jump ability, and the good ol’ fashioned spider-sense. Ben wears versions of his Grampa Peter’s web-shooters, and has been trained in combat and archery by his other grandfather… one Clint “Hawkeye” Barton. His costume is a combination of his two grandfathers’ costumes, with some elements of his “Great Uncle Ben’s” old costume; he has two escrima sticks he keeps in pockets on the back of the hoodie. Ben Barton, that talkative, sarcastic teen trying to make his way in a world he never made, is the Bombastic Spider-Man!
*** I figured a teenage boy would tend towards Spidey’s black costume, so I wanted to have that be my main influence. I also included the purple piping and design on the forehead as a nod to Ben’s other grandfather, Hawkeye, as not only is he a major Marvel character that deserves some legacy, but as I see Ben feeling like he got the short end of the spider-power stick, he considers Clint a huge influence. I also imagine him coming across Ben Reilly’s old costume in the attic, and thinking it’s entirely awesome. I have an affinity for it for whatever reason, and again, I think it’s something a teenage boy would find pretty rad. His spider-sense makes up for his hood, and also improves his aim. I imagine his paralytic barbs growing uncontrollably out of his forearms, and being something he has to constantly be aware of, so he doesn’t accidentally (temporarily) paralyze someone he bumps into in the hall at school. Also, the piping creates a web design on his chest.
